A 45-year-old Stephenville man is facing a list of serious charges after police say he tried to run over two people walking along Main Street in Stephenville early this morning.
Police were called around 2 a.m. and it was not long before the suspect vehicle was located abandoned. RCMP say the driver fled on foot and was eventually tracked down with the help of Police Dog Services.
The accused is facing charges including assault with a weapon, impaired driving, refusing to provide a breath sample, and driving while prohibited.
The man was released to appear in court at a later date.
