Ikea stores in Israel offer COVID-19 vaccinations

No Allen wrench required!

Ikea shoppers in Israel are able to get more than just stylish but affordable furniture at stores throughout the nation this week — with the sites also being used to distribute COVID-19 vaccines, the Jerusalem Post reported.

The shots became available Monday to customers in the furniture giant’s parking lots.

The Israeli Health Ministry and Magen David Adom, the country’s emergency services, launched the two-day initiative as part of a larger vaccination drive.

“Our main goal is to get everyone vaccinated,” an MDA spokesman said, the Jerusalem Post reported.

“The idea is that if you won’t come to us, we’ll come to you. We have special pop-up vaccination stations that can be set up quickly almost anywhere.”

Vaccinations were also administered Monday in Jerusalem’s historic Mahaneh Yehuda market, in addition to shopping malls throughout the nation.

Israel, which has rolled out the shots at the fastest rate in the world, has already administered the first dose to at least 4.4 million people, or 47.9 percent of the population.
