Environment Canada says 75 cm of snow fell over a two-day period in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, setting or coming close to all kinds of records.
It began snowing in the Happy Valley-Goose Bay area Monday night and it didn’t stop until early last night although the rate of snowfall eased considerably by afternoon.
Tuesday was the snowiest November day on record in Happy Valley-Goose Bay with 46 cm.
Brendan Sawchuk, a meteorologist with Environment Canada in Gander, says winds in the Upper Lake Melville area got up to about 70 km/h.
Makkovik had 17 cm where winds got up to about 100 km/h; Lab West 16 cm.
